A new version of Microsoft Surface V2 touchscreen table will be out there within a year. The Surface V2 is expected to feature high-def cameras with a high resolution display.

Erik Kilmczak, who has created different interactive apps for the surface previous version says in this connection: “You will soon find a new updated version of the surface, but this time with some astounding additions including HD cameras.

“At present, the cameras are limited in the details that they are able to pick, and they are actually being displayed at 1024×768 that is not quite sufficient and that’s why a higher resolution has been demonstrated with the HD cameras.”

Besides Surface current generation, Microsoft is also working on a new project that has been named as SecondLight. The SecondLight will allow to project images at the table top and gestures interaction.

Joe Olsen, the CEO of design firm Phenomblue, says about the commercial availability of the SecondLight that it would take further two to three years as he has heard about it.

“Right now, it’s in R&D that hasn’t yet decided to what point the need to figure it for commercialization.”

Olson also says about it: “This Surface table will come up with another inside camera very similar to a project via first screen onto something else, so you will find out a transparency layer over its top with different graphical images.  Some infrared capacities have also been introduced to extend its interaction area.”
