Mozilla is now targeting the apple application store and the company has submitted its first iPhone application ‘Firefox home’ to apple and up till now the response from Apple’s side is awaited. The Firefox home is not exactly the browser of Firefox as we all have on our PCs and laptops, it is an application that provides you access to you Firefox desktop history, bookmarks and also opens bookmarks on your iPhone.
According to the description provided by official Mozilla’s blog “Firefox Home helps give you the information you need, when you need it! No need to type long URLs. Bookmarks take you to your favorite websites with one tap. Your Firefox history starts working for you the moment you fire up your iPhone”.
To clear this thing that it is not a browser by Mozilla, the statement came “Does this mean Firefox will be available on the iPhone? No. We do not have plans to ship the Firefox browser for the iPhone. Due to constraints with the OS environment and distribution, we cannot provide users Firefox for the iPhone “.
The company has some doubts that apple may not approve this application as it is not using any documented API’s then there seems no reason for which Apple will reject this application.
